Within the framework of this DFG grant the detailed mechanisms underlying aggressive and impulsive behavior
will be investigated in close collaboration with many research groups within the consortium (for details see
www.trr379.de . Together, these studies may help to develop novel therapeutic approaches, specifically the use
of the microbiome and novel genetic factors, which are sorely required due to the rising incidences of aggression
in modern societies.
To achieve this, the candidate will learn and perform a wide variety of techniques - ranging
from behavioral, molecular, histological to microbiota-related analyses using state-of-the-art animal models.
